Home Electrical Work in Thane — Wiring, MCB and Point Planning
Home electrical work should be sized to the load a modern home actually carries — each high-draw appliance on its own circuit, proper earthing, residual-current protection on the board, and concealed copper wiring sized to each run. Done right, it's invisible and safe; done as patchwork, it trips on Sunday lunch and runs hot inside the wall. Since 2002, we've rewired flats across Thane and the wider MMR, led by founder Bhawarlal Jyani.

What Full Home Electrical Work Covers
A real electrical scope isn't just adding sockets where you want them — it's sized to the load the home will carry, with each high-draw appliance on its own circuit:
- Mains and meter — confirm the building meter capacity and the wire size from the meter to the flat.
- Main switchboard (DB) — replace an old fuse-box or undersized DB with one sized to the load.
- MCB and RCCB — dedicated MCBs per circuit, RCCB on wet-zone circuits, residual-current protection across the board.
- Dedicated circuits — hob, chimney, fridge, microwave, geyser, AC and washing machine, each on its own MCB.
- Concealed wiring — copper, ISI-marked, sized to each circuit's load.
- Earthing — a dedicated earth pit or proper connection to the building earth, not the old neutral-as-earth shortcut.
- Sockets and switches — modular plates (Anchor Roma, Legrand, Schneider, Havells, Crabtree, GM) rated for the load.
The kitchen appliance circuits are planned with the modular kitchen in Thane layout, not added afterwards.
Where the Older Flat Falls Short — and How We Fix It
Five conditions we see in 12-to-25-year-old Thane and Mumbai flats:
- Undersized main wire from the meter to the flat — too thin to carry today's load safely.
- Shared circuits where the kitchen, geyser and an AC all run off one 16-amp MCB.
- No dedicated earthing — the neutral-as-earth shortcut that fails when an appliance leaks current.
- Aluminium wiring in pre-1995 buildings — corrodes at the joint, drops conductivity, a fire risk.
- No RCCB on the board — no leakage protection, so a wet-finger touch on a faulty switch can be lethal.
A real rewiring scope addresses all five. Patchwork rewiring — adding sockets without resizing the mains, swapping MCBs without checking the wire — defers the problem rather than fixing it. The locality scope sits on our electrical work across Thane page.
Thane, Mumbai & Navi Mumbai
Jyani Interior is based in Thane Manpada and provides full interior design and civil work across Thane, Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Thane and Thane West come first, with the same complete scope extending across the MMR — a site visit confirms society rules and access before we begin.
